The Aadhaar Enabled Public Distribution System AePDS Bihar is an initiative by the Government of Bihar under the Food and Consumer Protection Department. This system aims to enhance the efficiency, transparency, and accountability of the Public Distribution System (PDS) by integrating Aadhaar-based biometric authentication.
AePDS facilitates the digital distribution of essential commodities like rice, wheat, and sugar to eligible beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act (NFSA). The system ensures that only legitimate beneficiaries receive their entitled rations, thereby reducing pilferage and ensuring fair distribution.
The platform offers real-time monitoring and reporting features, including transaction abstracts, sales registers, stock details, and grievance redressal mechanisms. It also supports eKYC (electronic Know Your Customer) processes, enabling seamless beneficiary verification and Aadhaar seeding.
Designed and developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), the AePDS portal is maintained by the Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department, Bihar. The portal serves as a comprehensive resource for stakeholders, providing access to various reports, transaction details, and policy updates.
